Theatre Students Receive Acting Advice From Actor Luke Wilson
From Erin Langen, Theatre Arts Teacher:
Well-known actor Luke Wilson visited our campus and talked with the High School Theatre Department students on Wednesday, May 6. He was greeted by Erin Langen, who invited him to an all-class warm-up and the practice of improvisation. Following the fun, some of the musicians from Isaac Langen and Tom Hopper's class joined in for some Q&A. He answered questions from the students about what it is really like to be a working actor. The students asked questions about what he does to prepare for a role, what was his most challenging role, who are some other actors that he admires, how did he get his start in acting, and more. He was very informative and kind with his responses, giving the students real insights into his journey through the acting business. He inspired students to follow their passions and surround themselves with others who share those passions. It was fascinating for our students to hear from him on so many aspects of the acting, writing, and directing world. He also brought his dog, who was a big hit with the students!
