Congratulations to all of The Grauer School's 12th Grade students in the "Class of 2024" for receiving their diplomas during their graduation ceremony on June 7, cheered on by their family and friends.
Alicia Tembi, Principal, presided over the 12th Grade graduation. The ceremony was filled with special moments, including personalized and heartfelt faculty introductions for every student, student award presentations, student speeches and musical performances, diploma presentations, and much more. Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, Head of School, gave a Keynote Address entitled "A Tribute to the Class of 2024" at the 12th Grade graduation.
Emerson M. '24 and Kendall B. '24 gave Student Keynote speeches during the graduation ceremony.
The following students in the 12th Grade Ensemble performed three songs during the graduation ceremony: Kai A. '24, Victoria A. '24, Shaun B. '24, Kendall B. '24, Kai D. '24, Tahlia F. '24, Nicholas H. '24, Lana L. '24, Gavin M. '24, Charlotte R. '24.

Dr. Grauer was captivated by media accounts of schools and students disrupted by the catastrophic Los Angeles fires, which prompted him to narrate insights gained during an interview with a teacher affected by the fires. The result is this vivid, first-hand account.
As part of their unit on Westward Expansion, 8th Grade U.S. History students went on a field trip to Old Town San Diego, to see the ways in which Mexican culture influenced the Southwest in the 1800s.

Students in 8th Grade Visual Arts class, as well as a number of older students from various Visual Arts classes, teamed up to compete in a "Nailed It!" cake competition to recreate holiday-themed cakes of their choice for their semester final projects.
Dr. Grauer discovered a recent Explorer’s Club presentation that connects closely to our work. George Schaller’s courageous story shows that how we enter a space shapes the world we create. We can create sanctuaries of peace, gentleness, and possibility wherever we go.
