From Tricia Valeski, Akemi Dyer, Lindsay Zickler, Sheila Wirick, and Peggy Gardner, Grauer's Admissions, Events, and Communications Teams:
Thank you to all of our students and families for your wonderful efforts and referrals to our annual Discover Grauer Day Open House on November 2. We met so many incredible families who came to learn more about The Grauer School’s balanced, holistic program.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who made this event such a huge success, including our amazing Faculty and Staff and Student Ambassadors who gave up their Saturday to greet families, lead tours and let prospective families know what The Grauer School experience is all about.
Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, Head of School, noted, "We kicked off this year's admissions season with an extremely powerful Open House event. Here's to even more joyful Discover Grauer days and talented prospective student candidates in the days and weeks ahead. I'm so proud to be a part of this team!" Alicia Tembi, Principal, added, "Our teachers spoke from the heart and with passion. The families at our Open House event were extremely impressed with the information you provided and the overall culture of acceptance and support you conveyed. We are so grateful that you gave up your Saturday to be on campus sharing the Grauer way with prospective students. You are the heart of Grauer, hands down. Thank you all!"

Our strongest memories of school often aren’t about tests or class lessons—they're about the moments and encounters that shaped us: a teacher who saw something in us before we did, or the unspoken codes of status and survival. What do you remember?
On a trip to the grocery store, Dr. Grauer spotted a small fitness studio named The Exercise Coach. Their pitch: "20-minute strength workouts, twice a week." When he tried out a lesson, the last thing he expected was to be re-taught his own educational philosophy.
After completing a unit on food vocabulary, Spanish students had the opportunity to experience authentic Peruvian cuisine. For many students, this was a culinary adventure, as they sampled these dishes for the first time, broadening their appreciation of Peruvian flavors and culture.
Grauer Seniors acted as assistants for a day to other students or Grauer faculty members who hired their services in the "Hire A Senior" fundraiser. Some Seniors assisted with classes or other tasks, some brought food to campus for the person they were assisting, and everyone had a lot of fun!
The Grauer School held their annual Middle School Geography Bee, and the eight finalists all did an incredible job of putting their geography skills to the test and impressing us all.
Congratulations to Cailin H. '30 for representing The Grauer School at the San Diego County Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on March 6. We were so proud to have Cailin represent our school!
