New Student & Family Orientation
Welcome, New Grauer Families!
We welcomed 41 new students and their families at the New Student and Family Orientation event on Monday, August 21. Our new families heard presentations from Dr. Stuart Grauer, Head of School; Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, Principal; Clayton Payne, Dean of Student Support Services; Chris Flesuras, Educational Technology Coordinator; Sheila Wirick, Parent Association Emeritus; Jessi Brown, Humanitarian Service Coordinator; and Rory F. '18 and Pete M. '18, ASB Co-Presidents. New students picked up their schedules and went on campus tours led by Grauer student ambassadors. They also met the Grauer faculty and got information about the programs, clubs, and activities available to Grauer students and their families.
Everyone also enjoyed viewing the historical solar eclipse outside on the Grauer campus, using special goggles provided by Grauer's Science Department Chair, Brendan Wallace. The eclipse viewing activities added to the festive environment, especially as the excitement grew when it was time to view the full effect of the eclipse at 10:23am!
We're happy to welcome these new students and their families to The Grauer School community!
