From Trevor Olson, Grauer Athletics Director and Health Class Teacher:
Last week, 9th grade students in Health Class went head-to-head with one another as they competed in the 7th Annual Grauer School Cook-Off! Preparing three different dishes and applying a unit's worth of knowledge to their food selection and preparation, the class served up a amazing show as they presented their dishes to a panel of Grauer judges: Dr. Stuart Grauer, Tracy Ahrens, and Clayton Trosclair. Awesome job, kids!
Comments from the judges:
Dr. Stuart Grauer said, "It was the perfect blend of art and science, of technical virtuosity and the wonderful Grauer School focus on the process of discovery. Commendations to every single member of Trevor's health class."
Tracy Ahrens said, "Every year that I get to judge this special class, I am beyond impressed with the knowledge that the students have, and how they implement everything they have learned in Health class in their cooking. They know the nutritional value, and most of all, how to make amazingly wonderful healthy food. Top Chef would be impressed!"
Clayton Trosclair said, "I was very impressed with the way each team worked together to transform healthy ingredients into creative and beautiful dishes. The quinoa-stuffed avocado was a real standout for me!"
