Grauerpalooza 2025: A Celebration Of The Arts
From Isaac Langen, Visual & Performing Arts Department Chair:
A huge thanks to everyone involved in Grauerpalooza 2025, our 21st Celebration of the Arts at The Grauer School! The vibe on campus in the afternoon on Friday, May 16, was perfect, featuring a diverse showcase of music with so many musicians and performances from our Middle School and High School music programs. In the gazebo, Visual Arts students made special screen-printed "Grauer Arts" t-shirts with customized paint sprayed over a surfing gorilla design created by Clay B. '25. The Visual Arts and Multimedia display took place in the Justice Center, club booths from Girl Rising and GSA sold food and drinks, Seniors sold items from their Senior businesses, and delicious Mexican food was served by El Puerto Mexican & Seafood Restaurant. We loved seeing families watching the show throughout the quad, meeting current and new-to-Grauer families, and reconnecting with all of the alumni that showed up. It was a fantastic event!
Thanks to Tom Hopper, Johnny King, Dina Treibel, Erin Langen, Spencer Bromley (class of 2010), and all of the teachers and staff who assisted with the event, and thanks to all of the musicians and their family and friends who made Grauerpalooza such a success! Go, Grauer Arts!

Dr. Grauer, along with The Grauer School’s research office, has spent 14 years developing the Small Schools Coalition which documents why and how smaller schools are not less by virtue of their enrollment size, but so much more. Here is an enjoyable story about that.
What happens when we stop trusting experts—especially in our schools? Dr. Grauer explores the rise of anti-expert thinking, the decline of formal education, and why real teachers still matter.
What if the future of education isn’t in scaling up, but in staying human? At a small schools conference in D.C., Stuart Grauer reflects on leadership, trust, burnout, and what it means to write a new script—one student and one story at a time. We can do this.

As a culminating project for their Civil Rights Movement unit, 11th graders completed "Voices of Social Justice" presentations. Each student investigated a "voice" from the Civil Rights era that was forgotten, misunderstood or suppressed, and then crafted a piece of art that embodied that individual's story.
