Grauerpalooza 2024: A Celebration Of The Arts
From Isaac Langen, Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) Department Chair: Thanks to everyone involved in Grauerpalooza 2024, our 20th Celebration of the Arts at The Grauer School! The vibe on campus in the afternoon on Friday, May 17, was perfect as the sun came out just in time for the show, featuring a diverse showcase of music featuring almost 60 musicians and 39 performances from our Middle and High School music program. In the gazebo, Visual Arts students made "I (Heart) Grauer Arts" t-shirts with customized heart colors, one of our favorite ever designs for Grauer Arts gear. The Visual Arts and Multimedia display took place in the Justice Center, club booths from Girl Rising and GSA sold food and merchandise, and pizza was served. We loved seeing families watching the show throughout the quad, hearing the impromptu soccer and basketball games happening throughout the event, meeting current and new-to-Grauer families, and reconnecting with all of the alumni that showed up. It was a fantastic event!
Special thanks to VPA teachers Tom Hopper, Johnny King, Erin Langen, and Dina Treibel, who made the event so successful, to our faculty and staff that helped with the event, and to all of the musicians and artists and their family and friends who made the event so amazing! Go, Grauer Arts!

As politicians fight over Columbus Day, imagine if our schools taught America’s origins through the eyes of Columbus in his conquest, but also through Vikings and Native wisdom instead of conquest—through the eyes of all three. Can we live with contradictory viewpoints?
