Grauer Student Surfer Featured In Independent Film
Ella S. '26 is featured in the film "Do What U Want", with beautiful surf footage shot by a local photographer, Banna Bazzarie. You can click here to watch the film on Vimeo, using the password "EllaSurf". First Light Surf Club invited Banna to create a short surf film, and she chose Ella to be the subject. The film, which Banna describes as a coming-of-age story, captures Ella’s growth as a surfer and young woman. In the film, Ella shares powerful messages about being a nonconformist, as well as wanting to be a role model for other girls who might want to take up surfing in a sport dominated by male surfers. Banna Bazzarie is currently submitting the film to festivals, and it has already been featured at local surf events. Ella also created the artwork for the film’s poster.
