Grauer Seniors Present Advocacy & Activism Fair

From Jessi Brown, Government Teacher: The annual Advocacy and Activism Fair took place in Meyer Hall on November 30, showcasing projects presented by 12th Grade students in Government class. The advocacy and activism project is an assignment where the students take the initiative to learn about and act on a major world problem they care about. The Government students set up booths with posters, flyers, and presentations in Meyer Hall, and shared their passionate, well-articulated ideas with other students and teachers. They also offered possible solutions and activism that can be done to help combat these major world problems. The topics that were presented included: food insecurity, fast fashion, paid family leave, voting rights, racial profiling, LGBTQ+ mental health, and ocean pollution. It was inspiring to see younger students walk away so inspired by the Seniors with these very relevant issues.
