Grauer Science Field Trips: Pfizer School of Science Mobile Experience

Grauer Science Field Trips: Pfizer School of Science Mobile Experience

From Nick Scacco, Science Teacher:

Our 7th Grade Life Science and 9th Grade Biology students went on field trips to the Pfizer School of Science Mobile Experience, a 53-foot traveling science lab built around an escape room-style challenge.

Working in teams, students entered the mobile lab and raced against the clock to solve science-based riddles, decode clues, and work through a series of challenges. The activities connected to topics in biology, chemistry, DNA, and vaccine science, and required students to communicate, problem-solve, and use evidence to figure out what to do next.

One highlight was interacting with Pfizer’s robotic dog Fido, and seeing another example of how technology can be used to collect data and improve safety. The escape room format made the experience especially engaging because students had to actively work through problems rather than simply listen or observe. It was a fun way for both grade levels to see how the science they study in class connects to real-world research, technology, and STEM careers.
