8th Grade Visual Arts Students Create Cereal Artwork

8th Grade Visual Arts Students Create Cereal Artwork
From Johnny King, Visual Arts Teacher:

8th Grade Visual Arts students completed their Cereal Artwork projects, which is one of the most fun projects they get to do! Students first chose an image that they wanted to recreate, then sketched the image on a canvas and painted in the background colors for their image. After they decided which colors of cereal that they would need for their project, we went on a field trip to Target to purchase many boxes of different brands, colors, shapes, and sizes of cereal. Students glued cereal to their canvas to create their portraits, and some cereal snacking might also have occurred during the process... It is amazing how well the cereal art turns out, and the students are always proud of their finished artwork!
