This year’s Gala will bring our community together for an evening that is both elevated and unmistakably Grauer. Expect student musicians, a photobooth, a special toast to our teachers, a few fun surprises, and plenty of time to connect with fellow parents and friends.

Most importantly, the evening celebrates the teachers who inspire our children every day. We hope you’ll join us for a memorable night together.

Your ticket includes transportation to the surprise location, one celebratory drink at check-in, one drink ticket at the venue, a three-course dinner with wine, and an unforgettable evening with the Grauer community.

At a surprise North County coastal location.

In the spirit of Le Dîner en Blanc, the destination will remain a mystery until the evening of the event. Guests will depart together from The Grauer School and travel by bus to the venue.

The surprise destination is part of the fun - and a nod to the spirit of Le Dîner en Blanc and Grauer’s expeditionary learning model. Traveling together to a beautiful, undisclosed location helps create a sense of adventure and shared experience for the evening.

If you love the idea but prefer a bit more certainty, or have special circumstances that prevents you from taking the bus, you may opt in to receive the location details the day before the event.

Our goal is simply to ensure that everyone arrives comfortably and enjoys the full experience.

Transportation will be provided back to The Grauer School at the conclusion of the evening. Return transportation begins at 9:30pm and will run continuously every 20 minutes until about 10:30PM. Guests are also highly encouraged to Uber/Lyft to Grauer at the start of the evening and Uber/Lyft home directly from the gala if preferred.

Dinner and the main program will take place indoors, with an outdoor component during cocktail hour.

Guests will enjoy a three-course meal with a choice of a chicken or vegetarian entrée. Gluten free and vegan options are available – please note any dietary restrictions when purchasing your ticket.

This is an open seated event. The venue will feature round tables, and guests may choose their seats upon arrival. Arriving and sitting together with friends is encouraged. 

The Silent Auction opens on Wednesday, April 29. Items will be available for bidding through our mobile bidding platform and will not be displayed at the event. The Silent Auction will close Sunday, May 3 at 10:00 AM.

Guests will be assigned a bid number, which will be printed on the back of your program. To bid on live auction items, visibly wave your bid number. Continue to hold your card in view of the auctioneer until your bid number is called. If you are the highest bidder, the auctioneer will announce your bid number as the winner. A volunteer will record your bid number on a confirmation sheet and this amount will be later posted to your bill.

There will be different opportunities to donate onsite, however the biggest way to ensure that all funds go directly to our teachers is “raising your paddle” during the program. A raised paddle during the live auction portion of the program constitutes a binding commitment to donate the amount announced by the auctioneer and will be processed using the payment method on file unless otherwise arranged.

All credit cards will be run after the event on Tuesday, May 5, unless you opt for an automatic check-out. Auction items will be available for pick-up at Grauer during the week of May 4th.

Yes. Receipts detailing purchases will be generated directly from the OneCause auction software. The Development Office will follow-up with any official gift receipts and acknowledgements for gifts of check, cash or stock, and in support of our Raise the Paddle. Please note that tickets to the gala are not recognized as a charitable contribution to Grauer, unless they are VIP purchases.
