This Can't Continue

Once again, we are mourning the loss of young lives to senseless gun violence. This must not continue, and we honor the activism of any and all students.
Please take a moment to click on the image below and listen to the song “This Can’t Continue”, written by Grauer graduate Selah Short, class of 2021. Selah wrote this song as an anthem in the wake of the Parkland, Florida shooting in 2018 for Team ENOUGH, a youth-led organization whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. This Can’t Continue
By Selah Short (Grauer Class of 2021)
Love is all we need right now,
Save the world, and we’ll choose how.
Violence can never win,
Choose your voice, sign with a pen.
Children they need us
Call you out to wipe off the dust.
This can’t continue
We see the issue.
The guns you use, the words you say,
There must be change that starts today.
We care more than we ever have,
Strive for change, we’ll reach both sides.
Children they need us
Call you out to wipe off the dust.
There’s no pretending
That this needs ending.

Make Your Voice Heard
Democracy died on January 21, 2010, when the US Supreme Court issued a ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, legalizing what had always been considered corruption. US elections are bought and sold. So are our elected officials. Click here to view a chart from the Brady "United Against Gun Violence" website, listing the 50 senators who have taken the most money from the National Rifle Association (NRA), along with the average number of gun deaths per year in their state. Make your voice heard by contacting these senators using the "Tweet" button next to their name on the Brady website!
