The High School ASB would like to thank everyone who attended last Saturday's Spring Fling Dinner and Dance. We had 60 attendees enjoying the beautiful gardens of the Foshee home. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Trey, Ximena, Amanda F. '18, and Isabella F. '21 for sharing your gorgeous home, to Amanda F. '18 and Estelle S. '18 for serving as student chairs for this event, to Galaxy Tacos for the delicious food, to our fantastic DJ Joaquin V. '18, and to our wonderful chaperones: Dana Abplanalp-Diggs, Shelley Boniwell, Tom Hopper, Isaac Langen, and Alicia Tembi. We look forward to seeing everyone out for our Prom at the San Diego Zoo on Saturday, April 14.

Grauer's Theatre Department presented Hamlet on March 15-17. We would like to thank Director Erin Langen, the cast and musicians, and all of the students and staff who made this production so spectacular! Thanks to our Grauer community for coming out to see the play and support our Theatre Department.
Eighth grade students Lourdes F. '22 and Julian I. '22 represented The Grauer School at the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair last Wednesday, March 14. We're pleased to announce that both Grauer students won 1st Place blue ribbon awards in their divisions!
Many Grauer students chose to participate in the Youth EMPOWER National Walk-Out on Wednesday, March 14. They gathered to protest for 17 minutes against Gun Violence and in honor of the 17 lives that were lost at Parkland.
The Chemistry class has been quantifying the number of calories stored in the bonds of common snack foods. Engineering their own calorimeters (and insulation systems), students were tasked with calculating how much energy is stored in snack chips and marshmallows.
9th grade students in Health Class went head-to-head in another round of the Grauer School Cook-Off! Preparing three different dishes and applying a unit's worth of knowledge from Health Class to their food selection and preparation, the class served up an amazing show as they presented their dishes to a panel of Grauer judges.
Thanks to everyone who attended Grauer's Casino Night event on March 10. We had a great turnout, from fiercely competitive poker players to beginners who got tips and instructions on blackjack, craps and roulette. Our 6th Annual Poker Tournament took place as part of the event.

The Grauer School is proud to show our support for the community of Encinitas by participating in local events. We'd like to thank all of the students and parents who staffed a Grauer water station at the Encinitas Half-Marathon race on Sunday, March 4.
On March 2, the Pre-Calculus class presented their annual Carnival Games during lunchtime, where Grauer students and teachers could play some fun games of chance for a quarter. The games are the culmination of lessons from the Statistics and Probability unit.
On March 3, The Grauer School Surf Team attended the final contest of the year at La Jolla Shores. Grauer came just short to San Marcos with team competition coming down to the final heat of the morning. However, Grauer surfers made a strong showing in individual rounds.
