From Alicia Tembi and Brian Dugan, 11th Grade History teachers: Last Friday, September 8, Grauer 11th graders welcomed a panel of immigrants and immigration experts to supplement their unit on industrialization and immigration. The firsthand accounts provided insight into the realities of immigration including the challenges faced and the social and economic benefits. The panel included Grauer French teacher Frida LeBreton; Grauer parents Raymond Huggenberger and Alexia Bregman; Brian Dugan's friend Genero, representing the younger generation of immigrants; and Cassie Hero, field representative for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The 11th graders had the opportunity to ask questions to dig deeper and make connections between the content studied in class and the experiences of these community members. Thank you to the panelists for graciously sharing their time!
