Grauer High School musicians performed a diverse and eclectic range of songs, curated by the students themselves, at the Music Cafe Night event on March 21.
What's New At The Grauer School?
The Grauer School had two High School teams competing at the San Diego Science Olympiad competition at the University of San Diego on March 16. Our teams competed in a variety of events across the STEAM spectrum.
The annual Grauer School College Fair was held on March 14 in Meyer Hall. Many students in all grades attended to pick up literature and learn more about the colleges and universities that attended the fair.
KUSI and FOX5 San Diego featured The Grauer School’s state-ranked archery teams on their Sports news. Emmy-Award winning sports reporter Allison Edmonds came to campus with her crew to interview Trevor Olson, our Athletic Director and Archery Team Coach, as well as some of our student-athletes.
Pre-Calculus classes went on a field trip to the beach to write trigonometric equations from data observed and collected from breaking waves. The student teams then checked their data through a surf report app. This was a great example of project-based learning through a fun math project!
A group of students from two cities and six High Schools in Taiwan visited The Grauer School. The Taiwanese students were paired with their Grauer student ambassadors for the day, and they participated in the school's Asian Lunar New Year celebration.

Congratulations to Ben A. '28 for being interviewed for the NBC 4 television station in Los Angeles. Ben was interviewed about his work with Tech-Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering senior citizens through technology.

Grauer Seniors Karina A. '24 and Emerson M. '24, ASB Co-Presidents, were recognized at the "Laurels for Leaders" Awards Ceremony, which honors and recognizes San Diego County Associated Student Body (ASB) Presidents for their dedication and commitment to leadership and service in our community.

Dr. Grauer is amidst a late draft of his forthcoming book, “The Way to Pancho’s Kitchen: Original Instructions for Small School Leadership,” and is thrilled to post a sample chapter here. This book, six years in the making, should be coming out late this year.
Magnificence: Is it a moment, an achievement, a natural phenomenon, an interaction? The relationship between magnificence and high school education can be seen from various lenses: integrating the natural world, inspirational learning and teaching, and emerging human potential.
