The Middle School Boys Basketball team, coached by Johnny King and David Castro, played in a home game vs. Nelson Middle Years on Thursday, January 4. Although the Grauer team didn't win the game, they had a very strong performance in the second half and continue to show improvement in every game. Thanks to all of the Grauer fans who came out to cheer for the team!
The Science Fair was held on Thursday, January 11, and it proved to be a fun evening with fantastic parent involvement and support. Commendations go to our grade level winners and Grauer Bucks fundraiser winners!
Grauer Senior Joaquin V. '18 started a "Students of the Year" campaign team at The Grauer School called "Fighting for Life" to raise funds for leukemia and lymphoma patients around San Diego. Joaquin and his "Fight for Life" team would appreciate your support in their goal to raise $20,000 by February 24, 2018.

On Saturday, January 6, The Grauer School's Surf Team defeated St. Augustine/OLP in the first contest of 2018. Grauer surfers dominated the team versus team heats early in the morning with several surfers advancing into the individual rounds.
During Finals Week in December, the High School Photography and Studio Art class completed the "Fast Food Burger Challenge" for their 1st Semester Final Exam. There were 3 teams of three students each. Each team had 2 Big Macs that they disassembled and reassembled using the best ingredients from both burgers to recreate their "perfect" burger.
The Engineering Design class focuses on teaching students ways of applying the principles of engineering to the world and problem-solving in practical ways. This year's class has been modeled around the idea that students are "stranded" on a deserted island with limited resources.

Andy Harper, Lux Art Institute's Artist-In-Residence, personally invited Grauer's 5th period High School Studio Art class over for a private studio tour and demo on Thursday, December 7. It was an amazing experience for the students to talk with a professional artist.
Grauer's High School Robotics team, Shockwave, had their first official tournament of the season on Dec. 9. Thanks to our team members for making the tournament a great success. They worked hard for months leading up to the event, and the collaboration, creative ideas, and follow-through really showed!
