This past week’s Expeditionary Learning activities for our middle school included special presentations by our 6th graders for families and friends in the Great Hall. After receiving tutorials on the Scratch software from teacher, Kate Napier, and a Cal State San Marcos undergrad, our sixth graders utilized the program to create virtual tours of their assigned cathedral. Characters of their creation presented history, fun facts, and architectural features of the buildings as part of their studies on Medieval Europe. Meanwhile, 7th graders continued their multi-cultural activity rotations and 8th graders took an all-day field trip to study Newton’s Laws on the USS Midway aircraft carrier.
